Earlier this month we placed the spotlight on one of our employees, Andrew Lowe, who is aiming to cycle 300 miles in June, fundraising for Cancer Research UK. Now halfway through the challenge, and Andrew has clocked up an impressive 206 miles.
Fundraising is well under way at Westcoast, for our 2022 chosen charity of the year, Cancer Research UK. Later this month we will share some company wide fundraising events but this week, we place the spotlight on Andrew Lowe's fundraising efforts, as he gears up to cycle 300 miles in June for this worthy cause.
This week it has been announced that Westcoast have been shortlisted at the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2022, in the Equality and Diversity category. This is a fantastic achievement with a huge amount of work being put in by so many great individuals at Westcoast, to help increase the awareness and knowledge on the topic of equality and diversity across the business.
Earlier this year, we announced that Henley Festival is back and in July 2022, it will be celebrating it's 40th anniversary. Westcoast are sponsoring this event and earlier this week it was announced that Westcoast's chairman, Joe Hemani has been appointed as an Honorary Life President of the event.

Last week, the latest episode of PIMsights was published where our managing director Alex Tatham was talking about the road to a net zero supply chain, and what this means for Westcoast. There were some insightful snippets of information, but ultimately, it falls to our drive for sustainable consumption and achieving a more sustainable future. We’re committed to adding net zero carbon to the carbon we directly control by 2035.

We’re thrilled to announce that we have made the top 20 of the Logistics Manager Top 50 Service Providers for the second year running. This year we have climbed from 18th to 8th which is testament to the flexibility of Westcoast and the expansion of the business into a whole range of services.
