Help your sanity and the environment by purchasing genuine Lexmark supplies

If a bizarre and clearly rough-around-the-edges impostor arrived at your house, dressed up in your mother’s clothes but clearly not your mother, would you let her stay with you? Hopefully not. And yet, every day businesses are using non-genuine supplies in their printers, completely rolling the dice on the quality of their prints and the wellbeing of their printers. Okay it’s a bit of a stretch, but bear with us here…
Let’s say you have a senior person at the company: they’re quite new to the role and want to stand out by cutting costs across the business. They decide that one of the easiest ways to do that in the short-term is by moving to non-genuine printer supplies. The idea gains momentum, and the shift is all in place for the start of the next week. But it doesn’t last long.
Initially it’s not too bad. There’s definitely a noticeable dip in quality of the prints, but it’s a small price to pay. There’s a bit of blurring here and there on pages, but that’ll probably sort itself out... A few more days pass and it starts to become apparent that a mistake has been made: the blurring issue hasn’t gone away, and what started with a couple of people grumbling about wet ink on their pages has turned into a few executives getting covered in the stuff when they’ve gone to collect their printouts. The ultimate nail in the coffin comes at the end of the first week, when one of the stalwart printers finally decides it can take no more of the dodgy cartridges and completely breaks down, costing the company thousands in terms of replacement charges as well as the overall impact on the business. By the start of the next week the company moves back to genuine supplies, and the person who had the original idea decides it’s probably best to keep a low profile for the time being.
If it wasn’t already a no-brainer to use genuine supplies for your printer, Lexmark are making the choice clear cut. As well as the simple fact that Lexmark printers perform optimally when they’re partnered with Lexmark supplies, they’re designed to be robust, high quality and long-lasting, so don’t be fooled by the false economy of a non-genuine product. As well as being manufactured in the EU for uncompromising quality, they also come with a per-page carbon footprint that’s up to 46% smaller than their largest competitor – and if environmental impact is important to you and your customer (and all of us, right?), then Lexmark have a got you well and truly covered.
This is because of something called the Lexmark Cartridge Collection Program. The LCCP is an end to end process that ultimately sees used cartridges recycled for future use. The program speaks for itself when you look at the stats, with Lexmark customers returning more than 40% of the total toner cartridges sold last year. When you consider that all cartridges collected are 100% reused or recycled, this is good news for the environment as well as businesses due to it being completely free and simple to be a part of. If your customer uses less than forty cartridges a year, Lexmark will send you a postage-paid box that your customer can put them all into and send to them; or alternatively for bigger amounts, Lexmark will send a suitable container or pallet directly to your customer’s office and collect it when it’s full.
With 40% of Lexmark toner cartridges returned last year, there’s still some way to go, so get involved and speak to Westcoast to find out more about how a Lexmark solution can help you.
