WESTCOAST'S EDUCATION PROGRAMME, BRIGHTSPARKS, RAISES AWARENESS OF CAREERS IN STEM

On Thursday 9th November five team members from Westcoast and Westcoast Cloud volunteered to raise awareness of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers with 700 school pupils at Aylesbury Vale School.

The event which was part of ‘Brightsparks’ - Westcoast’s education programme – was arranged in conjunction with the Education Business Partnership and Hi-Tech Horizons.

Through the workshop, the students from years' 7, 8 and 9 learnt about roles within the HR, Legal, Marketing, Partner, and Sales departments at Westcoast.

Volunteer James Thorogood who is Head of Partner Management, said "Attending today's Brightspark session was a great way to engage with pupils who may or may not currently have a desire to work in the tech industry. Hopefully sharing our experiences of working at Westcoast sewed a small seed of interest and showed that there are many varied roles and routes into a company like ours."
