Racing together to support Great Ormond Street Hospital
Published date: 13 September 2024
At Westcoast, we’re dedicated to making a difference in our community. So, on 22nd September we’ll be lacing up our running shoes to take on the Vitality London 10,000 – all in support of our charity of the year, Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
A world-leading children’s hospital that provides vital care to children from across the UK, we’re honoured to be taking on this challenge in support of GOSH’s important work. Its groundbreaking teams ensure that children facing life-threatening illnesses receive the best possible care and, for many of our team members, it’s a deeply personal cause.
Along the route, participants will take in some of the city’s most famous landmarks, including St Paul’s Cathedral and Big Ben. And with the finish line located in front of Buckingham Palace, it’s sure to be an unforgettable day for everyone involved.
What’s driving our runners?
We asked our runners to explain what inspired them to get racing for GOSH:
"Great Ormond Street is close to my heart. I had the privilege of knowing a very brave little girl named Eva. Eva had a condition called Rett’s syndrome and sadly passed away earlier this month. During her life, Eva visited Great Ormond Street, and they were always so kind to her. Eva was a massive inspiration to everyone who knew her; no matter how poorly she felt, she always managed to crack a smile."
Jack Dunster – Account Manager
"I’m running the Vitality London 10,000 to raise money for a fantastic cause and to test myself doing something I love. I hope the run raises awareness of all the great work GOSH does and encourages participation next year here at Westcoast."

Great Ormond Street Hospital does amazing work for children and their families, and being able to contribute in any way is truly special. I'm also looking forward to experiencing the event atmosphere and seeing some of London's iconic landmarks along the way – it’s going to be a memorable day!"
