Win With Westcoast 2024: Success lies in services and sustainability

Published date: 26 November 2024

Back to insights

Insights from Win With Westcoast 2024 show a shift in the approach to corporate sustainability, both for the big technology providers and customers in the channel.

The advent of AI and the rapid growth of data centres have accelerated energy and water consumption, making previously set net zero ambitions unachievable. To overcome greenwashing, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) plans have to be reassessed with a focus on short-term goals.

For our channel partners, supporting a circular economy will be pivotal in helping customers deliver on ESG. As an industry, we should be aspiring to take back and recycle with every new device sold to customers. Providing services that support the complete device lifecycle, including responsible disposal and the repurposing of technology, will be a key driver in both supporting these ambitions and driving revenue growth.

In fact, in all four trends that came out of Win with Westcoast 2024, service delivery was a factor in all areas.

Transitioning from selling hardware to providing skilled people and value-add services will be a vital evolution for channel success. This will require a change in how reseller partners operate. The focus will move from a hardware pipeline to embracing talent in key areas like AI and cybersecurity. Making this shift in approach is simple with a partner like Westcoast. We have the talent and experts for you to lean on. This means you don’t have to invest in in-house capabilities but can still deliver the value-add services and knowledge your customers will need to rely upon.

Westcoast – supporting your future in the channel

Whatever your business needs to grow, we’re here to provide it. From training tools that equip your team with the latest product knowledge to secure device disposal services, we’re ready to help.

We know sustainability requires collaboration, so we work with vendors, partners and the wider channel to achieve it. Our 100% circular solutions include data wiping, refurbishment and recycling. Through Westcoast Asset Management (WAM) we refurbish and remarket devices, while third-party IT Asset Disposal (ITAD) services extract resources from end-of-life devices to maximise value. Our Closing the Loop partnership allows partners to offer a "one-for-one" waste compensation scheme, removing a device from landfill in developing countries for each device purchased. A programme we’ve used within our own business too.
